Diet and Lifestyle - The benefits of a plant based diet

In this session, Gastroenterologist Dr Alan Desmond examines the characteristics of the Standard Western Diet that may influence the incidence colorectal cancer, and looks at the epidemiological evidence suggesting that plant-based eating may reduce the risk. He also describes the evidence-based advice to reduce risk through dietary change.

Attendees will understand the healthcare burden of colorectal cancer in high income countries including the US and the UK

Attendees will understand the roles that common dietary components play in influencing the risk of developing colorectal cancer

Attendees will gain the ability to make clear evidence-based diet and lifestyle choices to help reduce their personal risk

Participants will be sent a plant based recipe from Alan’s new book to cook and enjoy whilst they attend.
