Free accredited training to support those with eating disorders

A new training opportunity for healthcare professionals who do not specialise in eating disorder treatment but may encounter people experiencing symptoms.

Beyond the Symptoms is a CPD accredited course, delivered by the charity Beat. The training is available for free for professionals in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and supports development in:

• Spotting early warning signs, including risk management and screening tools.
• The importance of early intervention.
• How to approach and have difficult conversations.
• Why someone might be resistant to treatment.
• Challenges you may experience in identifying and treating people with eating disorders.
• Signposting to treatment services.

The course is run remotely on Zoom, with a maximum of 15 people per session. Courses vary from one full-day to two half-day sessions. The course will be facilitated by an experienced eating disorder clinician, with support and input from people with lived experience.
