THIS IS A NON-PROMOTIONAL MEETING ORGANISED BY HEALTH INNOVATION SOUTH WEST AND ACCORD UK LTD
Invitation to Stakeholder Insight Workshop: System-Led Optimisation of Prostate Cancer Pathways: Integrating Innovation and Addressing Cardiovascular Health Risks
Date: Tuesday 24th March 2026
Venue: Health Innovation South West, Vantage Point, Pynes Hill, Exeter, EX2 5FD
We invite you to a regional stakeholder insight workshop focused on optimising system-led pathways - with particular attention to integrating innovations, strengthening cardiovascular risk management, and developing sustainable, community-based models of care to improve outcomes for people living with prostate cancer in the South West.
Health Innovation South West and Accord UK Limited are supporting this workshop by pooling resources. This collaboration is governed by a formal written agreement consistent with the ABPI Code. The arrangement is prospective, documented and transparent, defining the shared objectives, roles and responsibilities of the parties and ensures transparency and appropriate governance.
This is a non-promotional meeting. No specific medicines will be discussed or endorsed. The purpose is to bring system partners together to share insights and co-develop approaches that address real-world challenges and improve patient outcomes.
All content and speaker materials will be reviewed to ensure they are balanced, scientific and non-promotional.
Why it matters
Cancer services across the South West are facing increasing pressures, including variation in pathway delivery, workforce and capacity constraints, and rising clinical complexity. Prostate cancer patients often manage additional long-term conditions - particularly cardiovascular risk - creating a clear need for more integrated, holistic models of care. There is also growing opportunity for improved community-based care, shared-care arrangements, and enhanced digital support.
Objectives
This workshop will focus on turning shared challenges into practical solutions that can be implemented, tested and scaled across the region.
To ensure meaningful, system wide discussion we aim to bring together decision makers and front-line clinicians from across the prostate cancer pathway based on their roles and responsibilities within the system. Selection is not based on prescribing or purchasing history.
The workshop will aim to:
-
Identify priority challenges and variation across prostate cancer pathways in the South West
-
Define practical opportunities to improve cardiovascular risk assessment and management alongside cancer care
-
Explore options for strengthened shared-care models and community-based delivery
-
Identify regional opportunities for digital innovation, improved communication, and better patient experience
-
Shape a regionally scalable pathway model that supports patients with prostate cancer and co-existing conditions
-
Agree priority areas for pilot activity and next steps, including innovations that align with system needs and priorities.
During the workshop, a national cardio‑oncology specialist will provide practical insights into managing cardiovascular risk in people living with and beyond cancer, drawing on real‑world research, clinical experience, and emerging integrated care approaches. You will also hear local perspectives on pathway challenges, service pressures, and opportunities for improved collaboration across the region.
Speaker affiliations and any relevant conflicts of interest will be declared at the meeting.
This workshop will lay the groundwork for potential collaborative pilot projects that Health Innovation South West and the Accord UK Limited may support in line with ABPI guidance and subject to appropriate agreements. Any support would be focused on system-wide service improvement and could include developing measurement frameworks, co-designing pathway improvements, and contributing evaluation and implementation expertise to inform pathway redesign, service transformation, and strengthened interdisciplinary coordination. Any such activity would be subject to appropriate written agreements, and to public disclosure of transfers of value in line with the ABPI Code of Practice. All activities would be non-promotional and solely intended to improve patient care and service delivery.
