This is an invaluable multi agency training programme developed by The Institute of Health Visiting in order to increase the skills and confidence of health professionals, in early identification and management of perinatal mental health issues and subsequent support.
Policy and research concerning national context of the impact of perinatal mental illness on mother, father, infant, child and the wider society as a whole, as well as the parent/infant relationship and the importance of the antenatal period across the life course.
Suicide and safeguarding as well as domestic violence, substance misuse, stigma and cultural considerations will be discussed as well as when and where to refer.
