This 2 hour session, delivered via MS Teams, is aimed at GPs and other primary care clinicians who manage patients with osteoarthritis (OA).

Primarily, the training will focus on improving diagnosis and management of hip and knee OA in primary care and will aim to improve alignment to NICE guidelines for diagnosis and management. The training will be aimed at improving knowledge of OA and developing greater confidence. This session will also cover the management strategies when patients are referred to secondary care with an aim to support the referral process.

The Cornwall Primary Care Training Hub have developed an exciting new cardiovascular pathway, with acknowledgement to the SW Peninsula Integrated Cardiac Clinical Network for their specialist contribution.

The pathway is aimed at healthcare professionals who care for patients with cardiovascular conditions in General Practice and will be of particular interest to those who have an active role in reviewing and managing patients on an annual basis.

This programme supports the NHS 10-year cardiovascular disease ambitions plan, in preventing cardiovascular disease by early detection of Atrial Fibrillation, Hypertension and Hyperlipidaemia (ABC).

There will be six half day virtual sessions going right back to basics covering anatomy and physiology through to pharmacology, primary and secondary prevention and management pathways. Each session will focus on a particular condition. These half day sessions can be accessed as stand-alone modules. However, we would encourage you to follow the sessions through for full benefit.

To complement the programme, there is an optional handbook developed with local and national competencies to consolidate learning.

For further information, please email: kernowhealthcic.workforce@nhs.net

This programme is provided free of charge to members of the Primary Care Education Programme. For non-members, a charge applies - details of which can be found on our course pages.
