A Cornwall IPC network will support implementation of effective IPC practices with full support from the NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly IPC team. The network is not intended to replace specialist IPC practitioners however, the aim is to have at least one connection in each primary care and care home setting across Cornwall and providers can nominate as many individuals as they like to sign up to the network.  The network is currently structured in three free of charge training levels. The South West AHSN is delighted to be hosting multiple educational webinars on severe asthma developed by the South West Severe Asthma Network, supported by West of England and South West AHSNs.

In this webinar we will cover diagnosing asthma, the impact of uncontrolled asthma, how to identify patients with uncontrolled asthma and why and where to refer.

People living with severe asthma face many challenges; they may have a lowered quality of life, have an increased risk of mortality and are at a greater risk of avoidable comorbidities. Their symptoms may also go undiagnosed for many years. Diagnosis and treatment can transform patient lives by reducing asthma attacks, asthma-related hospital admissions and long-term side-effects of other treatments.

This webinar will be repeated several times throughout September, and will be delivered by partners across the South West region. This particular webinar will be presented by Royal Cornwall Hospital. To sign up, please click the link below which will take you to the South West AHSN website where you can register.

You will need to select the date of the webinar that you would like to attend. Please note, all webinars present the same information and you do not need to attend more than one.
