DESCRIPTION:Thursday 11 September 2025 \n19:00 - 20:30 BST \nvia ZOOM \nFree to RCGP members as part of their membership \nNon-members - £10.00 \nFollowing the popularity and success of a previous workshop\, we are pleased to offer another opportunity to learn about how mindfulness and compassion can help you manage stress and get more enjoyment out of your life. \nThis online taster workshop will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about mindfulness\, through a series of simple yet profound experiential practices and discussion. Following the session\, you will know more about 'A Mindful Practice' and mindfulness in action\, know how to bring the practices into your life\, and understand the implications for improving your life in general practice in a way that feels manageable and hopeful. All you need to bring is an open heart and mind and have your video on throughout the session. \nThis workshop will be led by Dr Alison Sedgwick-Taylor (Founder of 'A Mindful Practice'\, and Independent Consultant Clinical Psychologist\, CBT Therapist and Mindfulness Teacher) and joined\, hopefully\, by a few GPs who have benefitted. This workshop is part of an independently evaluated and award winning programme that has been offered to over 620 GPs and primary care staff in Gloucestershire with significant benefits to wellbeing\, self-compassion\, and attitude to work. Our findings are soon to be published and the programme is expanding across UK.

DESCRIPTION:National Trust & RCGP tree care activity - Lansallos\, Cornwall \nWednesday 17 September \nHighertown Farm campsite Lansallos PL13 2PX \n09:30 - 13:00 \nFREE to RCGP Members \n£15 to non-members* \nPlaces at this day are limited. \nGP’s are invited to join the National Trust rangers for a morning of maintenance of woodland creation sites\, which will involve replacing tree guards and stakes and weeding. \nTea and coffee will be provided and light snacks. \nAdditional info – Please wear outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear (walking boots or wellies.) All tools will be provided but please bring gardening type gloves with you if you have them (we will have spares available to borrow.) Please bring a packed lunch\, weather appropriate clothing (warm layers/waterproofs/a hat and sunscreen – Whichever are appropriate) and plenty of water to drink. There are toilets at the Campsite which will be a 10/15min walk away from our worksite.
