SUMMARY:Coding - Kernow LMC online training
DESCRIPTION:Aim of the Course: To give delegates a background of the history of clinical coding along with a clear understanding of SNOMED CT and what Practices need to do to ensure their templates\, protocols\, searches\, and audits are future proof. Accurate clinical coding is central to GP Practices’ provision of safe\, high quality patient care\, as well as being a key component in its successful financial performance. Therefore\, it is an everyday imperative that team members involved in coding have a current practical understanding of operational best practice This workshop will increase delegates’ coding skills\, build confidence\, and help to eliminate the most common coding errors. \nObjectives:  This course is designed to enable delegates to: \n\nLearn about the history of clinical coding and its future\nDevelop an understanding of how to code effectively in clinical records\nUnderstand the importance of a coding policy\nGain a better understanding of how coding affects QOF\n\nAgenda: \n\nThe history and development of clinical coding\nThe reasons behind clinical coding\nHow Snomed CT works\nSearching using a clinical browser\nCoding – how it’s done\nHousekeeping/Problem management\nDevelopment of a coding policy\nCoding & QOF\n\nWorkshop Overview:   \nThis workshop will look at what we mean by coding – its significance and purpose in primary care.  A suggested coding protocol will be explored during the session\, enabling best practice to be achieved.    The session will also look at how to ensure coding is accurate and relevant creating data fit for sharing.  The workshop will help to raise awareness of the importance of coding\, particularly in terms of QOF and therefore financial management. \nDelegates will be given: \n\nA suggested coding protocol template\nCertificate of attendance\nCopy of the workshop presentation.\n\nTo register\, please email: rich@kernowlmc.co.uk

SUMMARY:System-Led Optimisation of Prostate Cancer Pathways: Integrating Innovation and Addressing Cardiovascular Health Risks
DESCRIPTION:THIS IS A NON-PROMOTIONAL MEETING ORGANISED BY HEALTH INNOVATION SOUTH WEST AND ACCORD UK LTD\n\nInvitation to Stakeholder Insight Workshop: System-Led Optimisation of Prostate Cancer Pathways: Integrating Innovation and Addressing Cardiovascular Health Risks\n\nDate: Tuesday 24th March 2026\nVenue: Health Innovation South West\, Vantage Point\, Pynes Hill\, Exeter\, EX2 5FD\n\nWe invite you to a regional stakeholder insight workshop focused on optimising system-led pathways - with particular attention to integrating innovations\, strengthening cardiovascular risk management\, and developing sustainable\, community-based models of care to improve outcomes for people living with prostate cancer in the South West.\n\nHealth Innovation South West and Accord UK Limited are supporting this workshop by pooling resources. This collaboration is governed by a formal written agreement consistent with the ABPI Code. The arrangement is prospective\, documented and transparent\, defining the shared objectives\, roles and responsibilities of the parties and ensures transparency and appropriate governance.\n\nThis is a non-promotional meeting. No specific medicines will be discussed or endorsed. The purpose is to bring system partners together to share insights and co-develop approaches that address real-world challenges and improve patient outcomes.\n\nAll content and speaker materials will be reviewed to ensure they are balanced\, scientific and non-promotional.\n\nWhy it matters\nCancer services across the South West are facing increasing pressures\, including variation in pathway delivery\, workforce and capacity constraints\, and rising clinical complexity. Prostate cancer patients often manage additional long-term conditions - particularly cardiovascular risk - creating a clear need for more integrated\, holistic models of care. There is also growing opportunity for improved community-based care\, shared-care arrangements\, and enhanced digital support.\n\nObjectives\nThis workshop will focus on turning shared challenges into practical solutions that can be implemented\, tested and scaled across the region.\n\nTo ensure meaningful\, system wide discussion we aim to bring together decision makers and front-line clinicians from across the prostate cancer pathway based on their roles and responsibilities within the system. Selection is not based on prescribing or purchasing history.\n\nThe workshop will aim to:\n\n\nIdentify priority challenges and variation across prostate cancer pathways in the South West\n\n\nDefine practical opportunities to improve cardiovascular risk assessment and management alongside cancer care\n\n\nExplore options for strengthened shared-care models and community-based delivery\n\n\nIdentify regional opportunities for digital innovation\, improved communication\, and better patient experience\n\n\nShape a regionally scalable pathway model that supports patients with prostate cancer and co-existing conditions\n\n\nAgree priority areas for pilot activity and next steps\, including innovations that align with system needs and priorities.\n\n\nDuring the workshop\, a national cardio‑oncology specialist will provide practical insights into managing cardiovascular risk in people living with and beyond cancer\, drawing on real‑world research\, clinical experience\, and emerging integrated care approaches. You will also hear local perspectives on pathway challenges\, service pressures\, and opportunities for improved collaboration across the region.\nSpeaker affiliations and any relevant conflicts of interest will be declared at the meeting.\n\nThis workshop will lay the groundwork for potential collaborative pilot projects that Health Innovation South West and the Accord UK Limited may support in line with ABPI guidance and subject to appropriate agreements. Any support would be focused on system-wide service improvement and could include developing measurement frameworks\, co-designing pathway improvements\, and contributing evaluation and implementation expertise to inform pathway redesign\, service transformation\, and strengthened interdisciplinary coordination.  Any such activity would be subject to appropriate written agreements\, and to public disclosure of transfers of value in line with the ABPI Code of Practice. All activities would be non-promotional and solely intended to improve patient care and service delivery.\n\nWhy your contribution is important\nYour insights are vital to shaping a pathway that:\n\n\nReflects real system needs and pressures\n\n\nSupports consistent\, evidence-based practice across Somerset\, Devon\, and Cornwall and IOS\n\n\nEnhances communication between secondary\, primary\, and community services\n\n\nAddresses variation in access\, capacity\, and pathway delivery\n\n\nImproves the ability to manage prostate cancer alongside cardiovascular risk\, supporting sustained wellbeing for patients\n\n\nNext steps\nAn agenda and clear insights objectives will be circulated with the registration confirmation ahead of the session\, enabling you to assess the value of the workshop ahead of attendance. Please confirm your attendance by registering via this link\nNo fees will be paid to individuals merely for attending the workshop. Any reasonable support for legitimate costs (such as registration or travel\, where applicable) will be limited\, documented and disclosed in line with the ABPI Code of Practice.\nIf you have any questions or wish to discuss the aims of the workshop further\, please do not hesitate to get in touch via events@healthinnovationsouthwest.com  \nWe look forward to welcoming you and working together to strengthen prostate cancer care across the South West.\n\nAbout this collaboration:\nHealth Innovation South West and Accord UK Limited are collaborating to bring together key stakeholders with the aim of improving the prostate cancer pathway through a system-led approach\, with a particular focus on cardiovascular disease risk. In line with the ABPI Code of Practice\, both organisations have pooled resources to support and co-fund this initiative\, which is designed to deliver benefits for patients and the NHS.\n\nThe views or opinions expressed within the respective sessions and any outputs in relation to the same are subjective views and opinions of the original contributors only and do not necessarily reflect those of any other party or person\, nor should they be ascribed to Health Innovation South West or considered an endorsement or recommendation by Health Innovation South West in favour of or against the products or devices or any person or party.
